Course on Project Management Organized by Access Centre Qatar

Access Centre Qatar has organized for five days a Project Management course which has been attended by a number of employees of "Mowasalat" company.
The course has included several lectures that has focused on negotiation, its objectives, negotiable issues, guidelines for successful negotiations and how to prepare for them, as well as the process, stages, strategies and techniques of successful negotiations. The course has also included lectures on how to manage projects through the identification and formulation of project tasks, determination of the human and financial resources, the time required for accomplishing tasks in accuracy exceeding 90%. This is in addition to scheduling resources for each task, calculating time and total cost of the project The course also tackles how to use Earned Value Management (EVM) to determine the project status and its future results, specifying if the project does not fulfil the timetable or the financial schedule, how to apply corrective actions, communicating with the Administration and other stakeholders regarding the project status and designing and reading the Gantt chart. Strategy Management Conference

Strategy Management Conference" recommends to follow up the fulfilment of Qatar National Vision 2030

The Strategy Management and Institutional Performance Assessment Conference, which has been organized by Access Center and recently closed in Doha, has recommended to hold this important conference yearly at the level of Gulf and Arab states to allow for the recognition of new ideas and successful experiments in the field of strategy management and institutional assessment. In its recommendations, the conference called for: (1) forming an authority or body that includes a number of specialists, experts and consultants adopted by Ministry of Developmental Planning and Statistics to provide support and consultation for different bodies within the state to assist it to execute and follow the strategy; (2) Designing an electronic system to connect the main objectives of every authority within the state to the main objectives of "Qatar National Vision 2030" in order to determine the extent to which authorities in the state work accordingly to achieve Qatar National Vision 2030 by designing a system for the assessment and monitoring that connects the different authorities within the state to the Ministry of Developmental Planning and Statistics; and (3) developing a number of standards and indications to help the different bodies in the state

Access Centre- Qatar has executed three (3) workshops with the participation of seventy two (72) people who belong to fifteen (15) governmental and non-governmental entities represented as follows: Public Works Authority, Barwa Real Estate, Ministry of Interior, Qatar Investment Authority, Ministry of Economy and Finance, Hemaya Security Service, Qatar University, Doha Bank, Kahramaa, Ministry of Justice, Qatar Petroleum, Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage, Olympic Committee, Ministry of Labour, Qatar Social Work Foundation. The first workshop was titled "Preparing a Strategic Plan"; the second workshop was about executing the strategic plan while the third one was about forming and building the performance indicators.
"The workshop has aimed to entrench concepts of strategic planning that is considered as one of the most major components of work, since it differs from traditional planning because it is based on insight into the company's situation in the future, not predicting the future and preparing for it," Mr.Tariq Al Halees, CEO of Access Centre- Qatar, said.

Access Centre…"Time" management workshop

Recently, Access Centre has held a workshop entitled "Time Management and Work Pressure" which has been attended by 24 Barwa Bank employees. This successful workshop which was successful in all its aspects has focused on methods of time management and how to develop administrative and operational priorities. "We are quite satisfied with the high-level training, which Access Centre has presented to our employees. Time management is a very important skill and a crucial factor in presenting a unique service to our customers and this is what we, in bank Barwa, are proud of," declared Mr. Nasser El-Haggri, the Barwa Bank CEO . Exempting certain goods and sectors from value added tax (VAT)

Fathi Abu Farah, a partner of Moore Stephens, the global accounting advisory, expects the exemption of health and education sectors, small and medium-size companies and more than 1000 commodities and food items from VAT which will be implemented in all GCC countries, including Qatar, in early January 2018 or 2019 at maximum. Abu Farah pointed out during a workshop held by "Access Centre – Qatar" yesterday that VAT is implemented in 162 countries and such large number clearly indicates that it is the most widespread tax worldwide. He also noted that the tax will not exceed 5% of the original price. According to Abu Farah, the tax is expected to be used in the second half of 2018 with the exemption of small and medium-size companies that generate annual revenues of no more than100,000 USD. Moreover, certain frameworks and regulative rules will be set out to organize the implementation of the tax on governmental and semi-governmental institutions. In the course of doing so, the Qatari government will determine the fines and penalties that will be imposed on evaders.
