15 governmental bodies participate in workshops on Strategic Planning and Performance.

These bodies were the Public Works Authority, Barwa Real Estate Co., Ministry of Interior, Qatar Investment Authority, Ministry of Finance, Hemaya Security Services, Qatar University, Doha Bank, Kahramaa, Ministry of Justice, Qatar Petroleum, Ministry of Arts, Culture & Heritage, the Qatar Olympic Committee, Ministry of Administrative Labor & Social Affairs and the Social Rehabilitation Center.
Titles of the Workshops varied. The first was "Preparing a Strategic Plan" , while the second was "Implementing the Strategic Plan" and the third was "Developing and Building Performance Indicators" .
Tariq Al Halees, Access Center's CEO, , said that, "The workshops has aimed at consolidating the concepts of the Strategic Planning which is considered one of the main components of work and which is different from traditional planning that depends on foresight of the company's status in the future not predicting the future and preparing for it."
Mr. Al Halees added that, "The goal of the first workshop was to train participants to prepare a strategic plan for the organization. The core of the workshop has included analysis of the vision dimensions, mission and institutional values, analysis of strategic goals, the relation between the strategic vision and the mission and the methodology of transforming the strategic goals to operational plans,"
"The aim of the second workshop was to train the participants on implementing the plan, developing standards and indicators, identifying mechanisms of preparing reports and follow-up". He has also pointed out that, "The workshop themes has aimed at the transformation of strategic goals into programs and projects, and to furthermore, identify the sub-goals of every project, the sub-plans, activities and mechanisms of measurement and follow-up."
Regarding the third Workshop, titled "Developing and Building of Performance Indicators", Mr. Al Halees said that, "The workshop has aimed at familiarizing the participants with the concept of "Performance Indicators", stages of identifying such Indicators and implementing them in reality. The theme of this workshop was about developing the Indicators, defining the Indicators and Key Performance Indicators, the importance of such Indicators for the success of the strategy, strategic and operational Indicators and stages of preparing and developing such indicators."
He added that, " following that, participants has applied what they have learned about developing an Indicator, where they designed some strategic and operational Indicators and connected between them."
Mr. Al Halees added that, "The workshops, conducted by experts, aimed at spreading the concept of strategic work and building the capacities in that regard." He pointed out that, "The wide governmental and non- governmental participation indicates clearly the determination of the State of Qatar to develop and build capacities within the framework of a comprehensive renaissance in all fields witnessed by the State of Qatar according to the National Development Strategy 2030".
